Remember the Why

As the world “reopens” after the global COVID-19 pandemic, many organizations need to relaunch or reinvent themselves. Agility is now a requirement. Talent is shuffling, schedules are flexible, and “Teams” can be a verb.

State and local governments, nonprofits and private sector organizations are learning agility is the best currency to ensure our organizations and our communities thrive.

After over a year of holding steady, the PPMC is experiencing change too. Not just the 15 months at home, followed by a new hybrid method of working from home and in our office, but also the addition of new team members as our organization grows and takes on more community initiatives.

All of this is said with an asterisk because our organizations may have to do it all again if COVID numbers continue to rise.

While the last year+ has been challenging, we also need to embrace the opportunity. Change is a skill-builder and values-reinforcer.

Organizations that are capable of reinvention are those that will succeed. Flexibility to change leads to sustainability. And it further reinforces the importance of having a strong team to make it through the challenges. Most importantly, through all the change, we hold tight to purpose.

The “how” might change. The “why” cannot.

Holding true to purpose must be the steady driving force in our state of constant change. As we relaunch, we do so in order to better serve our communities and advance the public good.

As always, we wish you the best on the journey, even if through the detours.
