1. What excites you most about joining the PPMC?
The PPMC provides a wide variety of services that can be the foundation for real, meaningful, and lasting impacts in the communities we serve, and I see the ongoing impact from past projects, as well as the opportunities present in current and future efforts. I previously worked at the PPMC as a graduate assistant while working on my MPA, so it's exciting to come back to build out a new role in the Access & Engagement Team, as well as to work alongside amazing public servants who have also mentored me in my own growth and journey.
2. Why is public service important to you?
My early adult life was spent as a newspaper journalist in multiple Kansas communities where my husband served as a pastor. Our journey in these services areas allowed me to get to know many public servants and cultivate a deep appreciation and admiration for their willingness to dedicate their skills and talents to this challenging work. This work is truly a calling and a passion, but it's a great fit for my skills, interest, and heart for service.
