Welcome To Recovery Meetings Located On the WSU Main Campus!

Led by the community-based recovery organization, The Phoenix-Wichita, these meetings will provide a space for grounding meditation and connection with other students in recovery.
The first meeting for Spring 2026 will be Tuesday, February 16th. No sign-up is required and you are welcome to join as needed. For more information about the recovery models used please see the information below.

About the Phoenix:
The Phoenix is a national organization that promotes recovery through community and connection. In Wichita, the Phoenix provides support to individuals in recovery by offering groups like these to people from all walks of life.

Recovery Dharama is a program utlized by the Phoenix to lead recovery meetings. This trauma-informed practice emphasizes compasion, non-judgement, and community to understand why participants might seek substances or other addictive habits for relief.

The Phoenix has partnered with Health, Outreach, Prevention and Education (HOPE) Services and Student, Outreach, and Support to provide these services for students at Wichita State.
HOPE Services utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to promote health and wellness as well as the prevention of suicide, sexual violence, and substance misuse/overdose. Their initiatives guide and support the Shocker community in addressing these common wellness concerns through education, action and collaboration with on and off campus partners. Student Outreach & Support provides non-clinical case management for students facing struggles that are barriers to being the Shocker that they can be. Their mission is to connect every student to resources on campus and in their respective communities that foster wholeness and facilitate academic success. More information about SOS
