Are you looking for part-time employment on campus? The RSC is looking for YOU!
We are hiring summer and fall student positions now
What to Expect
You will be given three minutes to put your best foot forward and make an impression on our hiring managers. Undeniably, speed interviews are less formal than traditional interviews, but that is not an excuse to dress in blue jeans and sneakers. The best approach is to dress professionally.
How to Prepare
Following the tips below can help make the most of the short meeting time:
- Bring Documents:
- up-to-date resume
- 2017 fall class schedule
- references
- Do Some Homework: do some research on the departments you are interested in and/or the types of jobs they are trying to fill
- Prepare an Elevator Pitch: an elevator pitch allows the job candidate to get their point across quickly. These pitches last for about 30 seconds and contain roughly 100 to 150 words.
This last point is important because developing a good elevator pitch may take some practice. A good elevator pitch will tell the listener why you are a uniquely qualified applicant. It should also convey to the employer the benfits you will bring to their company. Finally, practicing the pitch will result in greater confidence, create the opportunity to improve the pitch, and allow the pitch to sound more natural.
