The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has rescinded the boil water advisory for Wichita water customers. Faculty and staff may remove any signs on drinking fountains and bottle-filling stations.
Normal food and beverage services on campus will resume tomorrow (Friday, September 18).

On-campus dining options for Thursday, September 17, are as follows:
Open with very limited menus
Closed until further notice/brand approval
Shocker Hall will be open with an altered menu and limited beverage offerings (no coffee/juice)
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 16, 2026 — 5:15 p.m.
Free bottles of water will be available in the Rhatigan Student Center, Shocker Hall, and in the Kiah Duggins Shocker Support Locker located on the lower lever of the Shocker Success Center. Please take what you need while being mindful that supplies are intended to serve the entire campus community.
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 16, 2026 — 4:24 p.m.
Shocker Sports Grill and Lanes, located in the basement of the Rhatigan Student Center, will offer a limited food menu beginning at 5 p.m. today (Sept. 16). The menu will be available during the normal business hours of Shocker Sports Grill and Lanes until the citywide Boil Water Advisory is lifted.

Due to food service interruptions caused by the City of Wichita’s boil-water advisory, Wichita State Dining Services is providing the following food and beverage options:
The Market at Groundhouse is OPEN and selling pre-packaged food items. No coffee is available.

The City of Wichita boil water has issued an advisory for Wichita water customers following a disruption at the City's water treatment system. Out of an abundance of caution, Wichita State University is advising students, faculty and staff not to use campus drinking fountains or bottle-filling stations until further notice.
Wichita State is actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
Faculty and staff are asked to place signs on drinking fountains and bottle-filling stations in their areas indicating that they should not be used until the advisory is lifted.
