Why was the Starbucks built on the Innovation Campus instead of more centrally on campus?

A: Opening a standalone Starbucks in the new Braeburn Square development allows for features that aren't possible elsewhere on campus, including the drive-through option and the kitchen space necessary to offer full Starbucks menu. As a destination coffeehouse, locating the store on 21st Street also avoids potential traffic problems while allowing the store access to higher traffic flow.

Q: How does the financing for Starbucks work?

A: All Braeburn Square buildings, including Starbucks, are being privately financed without the use of student fee monies or state funds.
