Annual Events

Back 2 School Bash
Taking place the Saturday before classes start, campus becomes alive again with faculty and staff volunteering and students having fun. This event welcomes all students to campus with free food, T-shirts, inflatables, music, prizes, and more.
Welcomefest
Welcomefest takes place during the first two weeks of classes each semester and features dozens of activities. Hosted by various student groups and campus departments, most events are free, give all students a chance to get acquainted with each other, learn campus and find ways to connect with the community.
Family Weekend
Family Weekend is our way of welcoming family and friends of WSU students to campus. A variety of activities and events have been planned to introduce you to student life at Wichita State and to help you become more familiar with campus.
Shockertoberfest

Homecoming

Homecoming is Wichita State's annual celebration of Shocker Spirit and Pride! Campus is alive with events, student competitions and welcomes Shockers from the campus and community.

Springfest
Springfest is a kick-off for the spring semester for both student organizations and university departments. Located in the Heskett Center Gym, this event acts as a way for WSU students to check out the many different organizations we have on campus, as well as discover the amazing resources this campus offers.
Hippodrome
Hippodrome is WSU's longest standing tradition where groups of students write, produce and act out their own 20-25 minute skit.  In between each skit students perform variety acts in their own competition for cash prizes.
The Toast
All graduating students, and up to two (2) guests each, are invited to attend this inaugural event. Join us for light hors d'oeuvres, photo fun, door prizes and music. Meet and mingle with fellow graduates and current alumni before a short program of congratulations from Wichita State Interim President Rick Muma.
