Wichita, Kansas – With unanimous vote of the Student Supreme Court, a decision has been reached regarding Shiftspace v. Elections Commission. The Court agreed with the Elections Commission on the violation of the Elections Code and denies their appeal, but debated on the harshness of the punishment, that being the full loss of funding for the next fiscal year. A secondary decision was reached which orders the restoration of funding, based upon Article I, Section 4 of the Student Constitution, and "reasonable penalties" being applied to offending organizations. The Wichita State University Student Government Association is the official governing body of all 16,000 students at Wichita State University. The Student Government recognizes student organizations, oversees the Student Services Fees, and represents students to WSU faculty, staff, and administrators, local, state and federal government entities.
