SGA Supreme Court rules on ShiftSpace v. Elections Commission

Wichita, Kansas – With unanimous vote of the Student Supreme Court, a decision has been reached regarding Shiftspace v. Elections Commission. The Court agreed with the Elections Commission on the violation of the Elections Code and denies their appeal, but debated on the harshness of the punishment, that being the full loss of funding for the next fiscal year. A secondary decision was reached which orders the restoration of funding, based upon Article I, Section 4 of the Student Constitution, and "reasonable penalties" being applied to offending organizations. The Court has issued an informal and emergency response, and will release an official opinion soon. To read the informal response, click here.
