Purpose
To identify employees and students eligible for a waiver of student tuition and fees. With certain exceptions, student tuition and fees are required of every student enrolled at Wichita State University. The intent of this policy is to set forth the limited circumstances where student tuition and fees can permissibly be waived.

Policy

Pursuant to K.S.A. 76-719c, the Kansas Board of Regents shall approve all university programs to offer to students tuition and fee waivers, specifically the Board shall review and approve the standards, conditions and requirements “designed to foster the growth, distinction, and stability of the state educational institution and the quality of its educational programs and pursuits.”

The University shall apply exemptions and waivers for tuition and fees based upon applications and supporting documents that meet the criteria of the exemption or waiver approved by the Kansas Board of Regents. The Vice President for Finance and Administration provides management oversight of waivers and exemptions available to students.

Eligibility for each is based on information on the form and is considered when received.
