18.05 / Reservation of University Parking Lots

  1. Purpose

The purpose of this statement is to set forth University policy with regard to the reservation of University parking lots for use in conjunction with special University activities or events.

  2. Preamble

Numerous University activities and events require that parking spaces be specially allocated and reserved for the use of individuals invited to and attending the activity or event. In view of the possible conflict between these special activities and events and the daily needs of University students, faculty, staff and guests, it is necessary and appropriate that a process be in place for the orderly handling of requests for the reservation of a University parking lot by University personnel.

  3. Policy

    1. The Chief of University Police or the Chief's designee shall promulgate and publicize procedures for use with regard to the reservation of University parking lots.

    2. The Chief of University Police or the Chief's designee shall review all requests for the reservation of a University parking lot and determine if a request may be granted in accord with the publicized procedures.

    3. The decision of the Chief of University Police or the Chief's designee as to the availability and appropriateness of a request for the reservation of a University parking lot by University personnel shall be final.

  4. Implementation

This policy shall be included in the WSU Policies and Procedures Manual and shared with appropriate constituencies of the University.

The Vice President for Finance and Administration shall have primary responsibility for publication, dissemination and implementation of this University Policy.
