Nov. 14, 2019 -- Junior business management major Maribel Sanchez is taking full advantage of the opportunities provided by Wichita State. She is a first-generation student, Gore Scholar, studied abroad in the Netherlands this past summer and was invited to speak at a national conference.

Nov. 8, 2019 -- College of Engineering Dean Dennis Livesay has constructed an elaborate, storied LEGO city in his basement over the last six years. Most of it is his own creation and has ties to his personal history.

Nov. 1, 2019 - President-elect Jay Golden’s introduction speech indicates he learned much about Wichita State’s history and its mission. He spoke of reducing cost for students, of applied learning, the importance of the humanities and critical thinking and ties with business.

Oct. 30, 2019 -- The Wichita State Police Department has always focused on making WSU a safe, inviting place. And Police Chief Rodney Clark, who joined the WSU team in July 2018, has implemented several new initiatives in his first year to improve on the department’s mission.

Oct. 31, 2019 -- Jay Golden has been named the 14th President of Wichita State University. The announcement was made Thursday, Oct. 31, by the Kansas Board of Regents.

Oct. 29, 2019 -- The Kansas Board of Regents has announced a meeting of the board at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Rhatigan Student Center, Room 233 (Santa Fe Trail Room). The board plans to hold a public vote to name the next President of Wichita State University, with a reception following.

Oct. 28, 2019 - Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with business students on Friday to talk about leadership, integrity and service. He also met with Wichita State's men's basketball team at Charles Koch Arena.

Oct. 23, 2019 -- The American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE) recently presented Wichita State’s Susan Norton with the 2019 AAACE Presidential Award for Exceptional and Innovative Leadership in Adult Continuing Education, an award given to someone who demonstrates exceptional and innovative leadership in the field of adult continuing education.

Oct. 18, 2019 - Achita Muthitacharoen, professor of management information systems, recently won the 2019 Faculty Risk Taker award for her willingness to try new, innovative ideas. She holds a competition in her dynamic programming course that allows students to experience a real-world assignment.

Oct. 14, 2019 - River Vista Boathouse is one-year-old and Wichita State rowing is enjoying benefits of its new home with current students and recruits.
