Feb. 12, 2020 -- Wichita State University Police Department has over 30 commissioned officer and 18 support staff members. WSUPD offers many resources  across campus which help protect and keep students, faculty and staff safe.

Feb. 10, 2020 - Wichita State Assistant Professor of Trumpet David Hunsicker partnered with WSU's National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) and WSU Ventures to create the Gapper, a flexible plastic device that helps musicians control the third valve slide on the trumpet.

Jan. 16, 2020 - VivO2 earned a 2020 Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month. ClearObject.com named VivO2 one of its top three things to see at the show, a six-day gathering of industry professionals from around the world. Founder and CEO Tammy Dorsey and co-founder and CTO James Balman are Wichita State Master of Innovation Design students. Both attended CES, which attracted around 170,000 attendees.

Jan. 16, 2020 -- The Wichita State University Police Department has been named as one of the Top 25 programs in the country for its focus on safety.

Dec. 18, 2019 -- Creating eco-friendly refrigeration and cooling technology is one of the top concerns when it comes to fighting climate change. Thanks to resources and knowledge at Wichita State University, a Wichita company is one step closer to finding a solution to that problem.

Dec. 11, 2019 -- Wichita State graduate student Tammy Dorsey and her company, Prenatal Hope, recently reached a No. 11 rank on the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School’s Most Fundable Companies List.

Dec. 9, 2019 -- Five teams of Wichita State University students emerged as finalists in the Koch Innovation Challenge, held Dec. 6.

Dec. 6, 2019 -- The fourth annual Koch Innovation Challenge, sponsored by Koch Industries and held at Wichita State, will take place from 9 a.m.-noon on Friday, Dec. 6, in 107 Devlin Hall. Teams compiled from the Introduction to Technology & Innovation Freshman seminar course compete for funding to pursue their big idea venture.

Nov. 20, 2019 -- Martin Ratcliffe, adjunct professor in the Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College, teaches students that space and the people who study it aren’t all that far away.

Nov. 8, 2019 -- College of Engineering Dean Dennis Livesay has constructed an elaborate, storied LEGO city in his basement over the last six years. Most of it is his own creation and has ties to his personal history.

Nov. 1, 2019 - President-elect Jay Golden’s introduction speech indicates he learned much about Wichita State’s history and its mission. He spoke of reducing cost for students, of applied learning, the importance of the humanities and critical thinking and ties with business.

Oct. 30, 2019 -- The Wichita State Police Department has always focused on making WSU a safe, inviting place. And Police Chief Rodney Clark, who joined the WSU team in July 2018, has implemented several new initiatives in his first year to improve on the department’s mission.

Oct. 31, 2019 -- Jay Golden has been named the 14th President of Wichita State University. The announcement was made Thursday, Oct. 31, by the Kansas Board of Regents.

Oct. 29, 2019 -- The Kansas Board of Regents has announced a meeting of the board at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Rhatigan Student Center, Room 233 (Santa Fe Trail Room). The board plans to hold a public vote to name the next President of Wichita State University, with a reception following.
