Nov. 4, 2020 – The College of Health Professions (CHP) is celebrating its 50th anniversary at Wichita State University. Since its founding in 1970, the CHP has been highly renowned for its innovative approaches to education and supplying the health care industry with skilled, passionate professionals.

Nov. 3, 2020 -- Brandyn Rathman, from Sioux City, Iowa, is excited to start his career in the medical field after graduation. He said he believes his experience at Wichita State University will help him help his patients lead healthy lives. Rathman is one of more than 1,200 students eligible for fall 2020 graduation. Oct. 29, 2020 - Campus construction continues and new partners continue to join Wichita State University. An update on progress around campus includes Woolsey Hall, new home to W. Frank Barton School of Business, Hyatt Place and The Smart Factory @ Wichita.

Oct. 26, 2020 — Hyatt Place at Wichita State University, the first Hyatt Place in Wichita, is officially open, expanding the Hyatt Place brand’s footprint globally in markets that matter most to guests and World of Hyatt members.

Oct. 19, 2020 — Wichita and southcentral Kansas' only high-volume test lab opened at Wichita State University. The Molecular Diagnostics Lab can test up to 4,500 tests per day at its full capacity.

Oct. 15, 2020 — Wichita State University will celebrate the opening of its Molecular Diagnostics Lab (MDL) at 10:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at the John Bardo Center on WSU’s Innovation Campus.

Oct. 5, 2020 — Alums Spencer Steinert, Jared Goering and Maggie Koops teamed up to address a challenge created by XPrize: to craft a face mask addressing the obstacles that deter people from wearing them and promote positive mask-wearing behavior.

Sept. 29, 2020 -- Wichita State University is taking a step forward with community discussions about a University Village initiative, which seeks to create a community destination of dining, entertainment and shopping adjacent to campus.

Sept. 18, 2020 -- Wichita State University today announced the inaugural awardees of the highly competitive President’s Convergence Sciences Research Initiative. The initiative brings together the intellectual curiosity and strengths of faculty and students from a range of disciplines and gives them the support to develop research programs that drive the diversity and growth of the Kansas economy while addressing global challenges.

Sept. 16, 2020 — A team of researchers from Wichita State University is investigating blue-green algae in Marion Reservoir and its toxic, and sometimes deadly, dangers to wildlife, pets and people.

Sept. 10, 2020 -- Deloitte and Wichita State University today announced the launch of The Smart Factory @ Wichita, a groundbreaking and immersive experiential learning environment that will accelerate the future of manufacturing as innovation and new technologies continue to reshape operations and the modern enterprise.

More than 200 graduates received disposable stethoscopes as a gift from the College of Health Professions.

August 28, 2020 - Growing and diversifying the regional economy is a primary goal for Wichita State University. To assist with those efforts, Wichita State University President Dr. Jay Golden has created the President’s Innovation and Business Advisory Council. A selection of area business leaders will be invited to attend monthly council meetings to advise and support Wichita State leadership on a number of critical areas.
