Hand assistive device

June 16, 2020 - Carlos Gatti, a junior biomedical engineering major, is building a Wichita State University student organization that provides affordable assistive devices to people in need. The team is designing a device for a client who plays the cello and one for a client who wants help with tasks such as cooking.

April 1, 2020 -- In March, five WSU students traveled to Topeka to present their research and creative activity posters inside the Capitol building for the annual Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol.

Feb. 20, 2020 -- Dane Laughlin started working for INVISTA, Koch Industries’ textiles, polymers, fiber and resin producer, while he was a biomedical engineering student at Wichita State and got hired on full time after graduating in May 2019.

Winners of the 2020 Gore Scholarships to attend Wichita State

Jan. 31, 2020 -- Wichita State University has selected the 2020 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend Wichita State University in August 2020.

Dec. 19, 2019 -- Those interested in a career in biomedical engineering just received another degree option that’s closer to home. Wichita State University and Butler Community College have joined forces to create a 2+2 agreement that articulates a complete four-year plan of study in biomedical engineering.

University Innovation Fellows

Dec. 18, 2019 -- Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design has named three Wichita State students as University Innovation Fellows. Jacob Burns, Molly Carlson and Savannah Redfern will join more than 2,000 Fellows at 267 institutions worldwide.

Nov. 21, 2019 -- As nationwide demand for biomedical engineers continues to grow, Wichita State University is moving forward with a plan to create a doctoral program that would help fill that need.
