Dec. 17, 2019 -- Thanks to Andrew Swindle, WSU's hydrogeology professor, the university now has a hydrogeology field site for students and researchers. This site is the only one of its size in Kansas and the surrounding states.

Dec. 16, 2019 -- Courtney Powers, music director at South Philadelphia High School, is in the running for a Grammy of her own for her work in music education. She is currently one of 25 quarterfinalists for the award.

Dec. 13, 2019 -- Katlyn, a student at USD 259’s Levy Special Education Center, has cerebral palsy and is nonverbal. Three Wichita State Engineering students have made communication a lot easier for her as a class project this semester.

Dec. 4, 2019 -- Javier Martinez and Jonathan Lozano hadn’t even intended to earn Wichita State’s inaugural Parkinson Scholarship in 2018, but they did. Both first-generation college students share their stories of adversity and triumph and offer words of encouragement for future first-gen college hopefuls.

Dec. 5, 2019 -- A class project brought color to the sky above Wichita — and helped one student land a job.

Dec. 4, 2019 -- Natalie Dutton, a senior sport management student and member of the Shocker bowling team, got the chance of a lifetime this summer as an intern with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dec. 2, 2019 -- I went across Wichita State asking students the same question: "What makes a great Shocker?" This video is a short compilation of their heartfelt responses.

Nov. 26, 2019 -- Nathan Light, a senior studying video production at WSU, spent his summer creating a documentary over the slapstick comedy film, King Kung Fu. The filming process taught Nathan the ins and outs of video production, editing and seeing his vision come to life.

Nov. 25, 2019 -- The business interns at Airbus’ Innovation Campus office feel right at home in their work and understand the importance Airbus places on everything they do. They hail from diverse backgrounds and depend on each other to develop and sustain Airbus’ work.

Nov. 18, 2019 -- From Interim President Andy Tompkins: I wanted you to know about the potential for an exciting expansion of our partnership with NetApp. We’ve been talking for several months with NetApp’s leadership about the possibility of having their employees and facilities relocate to Innovation Campus, to work even more closely with WSU students, faculty and other researchers.

Nov. 14, 2019 -- Junior business management major Maribel Sanchez is taking full advantage of the opportunities provided by Wichita State. She is a first-generation student, Gore Scholar, studied abroad in the Netherlands this past summer and was invited to speak at a national conference.

Nov. 7, 2019 -  Levi Lowe, a senior majoring in applied computing and psychology is a first generation student who works 40 hours a week. Lowe works to pay for school on his own but was awarded a scholarship to help make ends meet.

Nov. 5, 2019 – The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at Wichita State is hosting the first Pediatric Feeding group to help picky eaters and problem feeders.

Nov. 4, 2019 -- Austin Clift prepared himself as much as possible to teach high school journalism, but nothing could ready him for his first day teaching solo at Wichita East High School. As a part of his preparation, he shadowed his predecessor through Wichita State’s Transition to Teaching program.

Oct. 29, 2019 - It’s the living room of the engineering building in the Partnership 2 building on the Innovation Campus: GEEKS, a full-service tutoring lab for engineering students. The facility is a free resource that yields a significant amount of success for engineering students.
