May 6, 2020 - Vinay K. Kadarla’s dissertation details his work to understand the mechanism and structure of the muscle protein myopalladin with the goal of helping design drugs or therapies to treat cardiomyopathy.

May 5, 2020 -- Fellow seniors, there's no denying that our senior year ended differently than we planned. While it's okay to be sad and grieve the events that aren't happening, be sure to take time and reflect on the past four years and look toward the future as one door closes an another opens.

May 1, 2020 — Andrew Stockmann, a Wichita State University senior in sport management, started an internship with the Omaha Storm Chasers on March 9. Three days later, the Storm Chasers announced that their season would be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In many ways, that changed the focus of Andrew’s internship.

April 30, 2020 — George Dehner, a world environmental historian who examines the intersection of humans and disease in the modern era, presented “Influenza pandemics since Russian Flu: Do they provide insight to COVID-19?” as part of a Fairmont College of Liberal Arts and Sciences series, Perspective on the Pandemic.

April 28, 2020 -- New student body President Rija Khan and Vice President, Mackenzie Haas want to focus on diversity, inclusivity, mental health and campus transparency during their term. The paid hopes to create change by being authentic and advocate for the student body.

April 24, 2020 -- Dr. Richard Bomgardner has extensively researched the after-effects of athletes' head injuries and the importance for schools to have policies in place to accommodate the students in the classroom as they're healing.

April 23, 2020 - Wichita State student teachers are jumping in to help with lesson plans during the pandemic. A group of 13 students contribute to an open document with lesson plans, videos and slide shows designed for remote learning.

April 23, 2020 - Wichita State graduate Cindy Miller describes her job with Harley-Davidson as that of an internal consultant who works in all areas of the company. She provides design guidance and conducts testing to deliver ergonomic, usability and user experience performance.  “It’s important for a rider to feel comfortable, as well as confident,” she said.

April 16, 2020 - D.J. Gering, a 2017 Wichita State University graduate, is a public health analyst for the Reno County Health Department. He collects data for Reno County’s coronavirus dashboard.

April 9, 2020 - Wichita State faculty, staff and students are helping each other deal with the pandemic. Whether it's a fun Zoom meeting, a phone call or help with a technology question, examples are abundant of people working together in a difficult time.

March 25, 2020 -- The political science department at Wichita State University offers internships based in Topeka, Kansas and Washington D.C. which allows students the opportunity to work alongside legislators, representatives and congressmen. Wichita State students help with preparing bills and campaigns, managing finances and traveling around the state meeting prospective voters.

March 2, 2020 -- Nine Wichita State graduate students joined with graduate students from all of the Kansas Board of Regents universities and presented at the 17th annual Capitol Graduate Research Summit in Topeka on Feb. 26.

Feb. 27, 2020 - Wichita State graduate student Monica Connelly's research involves studying weapon detection by law enforcement officers using biological motion as a cue.

Feb. 27, 2020 -- Inneke Vargas, a senior studying psychology with a minor in criminal justice, returned to Wichita State University after working in various industries. She found psychology after realizing the stigmas found in minorities. Through her research she hopes to make an impact on those affected my mental illness.

Feb. 24, 2020 -- Five high school seniors were named Doris and Ralph Klose Scholars as part of the Klose Scholars Day at Wichita State University.
