Sept. 27, 2019 -- The annual ceremony of remembrance for those who died in the 1970 Wichita State University plane crash will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at WSU’s Memorial '70, located near the 18th Street and Hillside entrance to the university.

Aug. 29, 2019 -- Aliyah Funschelle is a junior studying sport management at Wichita State University. She is the campus representative for the American Athletic Conference and provides stories about WSU student-athletes to the network.

Aug. 20, 2019 -- The first hotel on the Wichita State campus is beginning construction. A 106-room Hyatt Place hotel will break ground next week on Wichita State’s Innovation Campus, within walking distance of the new Fuzzy’s Tacos, the Shocker Store and Starbucks.

Aug. 7, 2019 -- The Wichita State University campus will soon be home to a larger-than-life sculpture of its beloved WuShock mascot, thanks to Steve Clark – a longtime Greater Wichita YMCA board member, volunteer and donor – for whom the area’s tenth YMCA branch location will be named.

July 24, 2019 -- It’s easy to take the free t-shirts, halftime performances and musical chairs on the Charles Koch Arena basketball court for granted. But, during every Shocker Athletics game, a team of student marketing and game operations interns follows a carefully choreographed plan to make sure fans have a good time in between each play.

July 8, 2019 - Eddie Sandoval graduated from Wichita State in 2017 with a business finance degree. While in school, he used the resources around him to launch a successful business called Pinole Blue.

June 19, 2019 - Gordon Vadakin discusses his retirement from Wichita State bowling after building the program over 40-plus years as bowler and coach.

May 31, 2019 -- 2010 WSU graduate, entrepreneur, and mother, Emilee Palomino is empowering girls all over the world through her brand, Smarty Girl.

April 16, 2019 -- Ryan Kendall, a senior from Pelham, Alabama, is a computer science major who took the long route to Wichita State’s Selected Team. He didn’t make the team as a freshman and spent the past two seasons on the Developmental Team. Wichita State coach Gordon Vadakin estimates around 10 percent of the bowlers who don’t make the team in their early years continue to try out for a spot on the Selected Team.

April 2, 2019 -- A plan to build a new Student-Athlete Success Center and renovate parts of Charles Koch Arena is moving forward.

Jan. 28 2019 -- RJ Clark is a graduate student at Wichita State and is one out of six WSU students accepted last year into Stanford’s prestigious University Innovation Fellow (UIF) program.

Jan. 2 2019 -- Maggie Brown is a sophomore aerospace engineer major and is one of a only six Wichita State students chosen as a University Innovation Fellow. 

Dec. 6, 2018 -- Trudy Martin is a fifth-year senior at WSU studying electronic media and is an intern at KMUW.

December 6, 2018-- First generation student Ana Lopez found that determination and passion trumped uncertainty every time.

Nov. 20, 2018 -- Student-athlete Tabitha Brown, a member of Wichita State's volleyball team, knows how to strike a balance between academics and athletics.
