May 13, 2019 -- Nearly 48 years ago, Grady Landrum was in a car accident that paralyzed him. His journey is both inspirational and a testament to his never-quit attitude. This June, he retires after 27 years as director of Disability Services at Wichita State University.

May 9, 2019 -- Larisa Genin (pronounced JENN-IN), associate dean of the School of Economics and Business Administration at Saint Mary’s College of California, has been named dean of the W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University, effective June 17, 2019.

May 7, 2019 - Wichita State graduate student Caleb Gimar is gaining amazing hands-on learning experience working on a research project with NASA.

April 16, 2019 -- Ryan Kendall, a senior from Pelham, Alabama, is a computer science major who took the long route to Wichita State’s Selected Team. He didn’t make the team as a freshman and spent the past two seasons on the Developmental Team. Wichita State coach Gordon Vadakin estimates around 10 percent of the bowlers who don’t make the team in their early years continue to try out for a spot on the Selected Team.

Haysville GEAR UP check presentation

March 5, 2019 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $4.2 million dollars in funding from the U.S. Department of Education to implement GEAR UP in Haysville school district USD 216 through 2025. Every student in 6th and 7th grade will benefit from GEAR UP’s college prep resources.

Feb. 28, 2019  -- Sandra Sanchez is a first-generation student who will graduate with a degree in social work in May 2019

Feb. 15, 2019 -- Former Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson and his wife, Stacy, have established a generous scholarship at Wichita State University to help children of undocumented immigrants earn their degrees to pursue the American Dream.

Jan. 2, 2019 -- President John Bardo is focusing on his recovery from November and December surgeries for a lung condition. During this time, he has requested Provost Richard Muma serve as acting president.

Dec. 19, 2018 -- As a nontraditional student who was the first in his family to go to college, the thought of college was scary for David Bustos-Morales. But spurred on by the desire to make his family proud, he pushed through and graduated in December 2018.
