In Rick Pappas' elementary school classroom, PE became a way to channel classroom lessons with physical activity. When he began teaching elementary PE at WSU in 2009, he taught his college students the same lesson.

May 21, 2019 - Four Wichita State University aerospace engineering students have placed seventh in NASA’s Student Launch Initiative competition. The team designed, built and launched a rocket to complete a simulated Moon mission.

April 26, 2019 -- The May Day Pop-Up Picnic will take place from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, north of the Rhatigan Student Center on the WSU campus.

April 16, 2019 -- Ryan Kendall, a senior from Pelham, Alabama, is a computer science major who took the long route to Wichita State’s Selected Team. He didn’t make the team as a freshman and spent the past two seasons on the Developmental Team. Wichita State coach Gordon Vadakin estimates around 10 percent of the bowlers who don’t make the team in their early years continue to try out for a spot on the Selected Team.

April 15, 2019 -- A series of events honoring the life of late Wichita State President John Bardo will be held May 6-10 on campus. Dr. Bardo, the 13th president of WSU, died March 12 after a long illness.

April 2, 2019 -- A plan to build a new Student-Athlete Success Center and renovate parts of Charles Koch Arena is moving forward.

March 29, 2019 -- Christian Ammerman, Secondary English Education and English Literature Arts major, was recently recognized as a University Innovation Fellow.

March 18, 2019 -- The Shocker community came out Monday, March 18, to honor and mourn Wichita State President John Bardo, who died March 12.

March 12, 2019 -- John W. Bardo, president of Wichita State University, died March 12, 2019. He was 70 years old.

March 7, 2019 -- Wichita State University’s School of Performing Arts will present “The Theory of Relativity”, the musical (rated PG).

Jan. 15, 2019 -- Wichita State University’s College of Applied Studies awarded five high school seniors the Doris and Ralph Klose Endowed Scholarship.

Dec. 6, 2018 -- Trudy Martin is a fifth-year senior at WSU studying electronic media and is an intern at KMUW.

Dec. 6, 2018 -- During the fall semester, WSU first-year seminar students had the opportunity to enroll in Beal’s six-credit-hour JUMP!STAR class, co-taught by Ferrandi.
