Nov. 8, 2018 -- Providing a pathway to success for first-generation college students is one of Wichita State University's highest priorities and a success story that everyone can be proud of.

Nov. 6, 2018 -- WSU student Tammy Dorsey created the Pedi-Cell, a diagnostic tool that can detect fetal acidosis.

Nov. 2, 2018 -- Jessica Aldrich, a graduate student at Wichita State University, is leading the way in bringing StartUp Grind U to WSU. StartUp Grind is a global startup company designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs.

Oct. 5, 2018 -- Retired Lt. Colonel Larry Burks is the new director of Military and Veteran Services at Wichita State University.

Oct. 2, 2018 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $813,000 to boost enrollment and retention of students under-represented in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds are part of a larger $3 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant awarded to Kansas State University, which is sharing grant funds with a statewide coalition of universities and community colleges.

Sept. 27, 2018 - Zane Storlie, a junior majoring in computer science at Wichita State, has received a $10,000 a year scholarship from High Touch, a Wichita technology company. The scholarship is renewable and honors the memory of Pat Riddle, a WSU alumna and former High Touch employee.

Sept. 27, 2018 -- After months of anticipation, Fuzzy's Taco Shop confirmed plans to open a restaurant in Braeburn Square, the new retail complex at Wichita State University. Next summer Fuzzy's will join Starbucks and the Shocker Store in the development near 21st and Oliver.

Sept. 20, 2018 -- WSU graduate Julius Thomas III is touring cross country with the Broadway hit show “Hamilton: The Musical.”

Aug. 22, 2018 -- Wichita State students Jared Goering, Ryan Becker and Spencer Steinert are working together to positively impact lives through wearable technology. Together they created a product called Cyfive and have been perfecting it for the past three years.

Aug. 2, 2018 -- Ideas turn into reality at GoCreate, Wichita State's makerspace, which in its first year already has helped 180 members bring their creativity to life.

Aug. 3, 2018 -- As GoCreate marks its second year, access to tools, technology and advice is critical to entrepreneurs and other creators.

July 19, 2018 -- It's the start of a new tradition: Starting this fall, Wichita State will have a marching band. The new band will include brass, saxophone and a drum line.

June 29, 2018 -- A group of six Master of Innovation Design students at Wichita State University participated in and won a national innovation challenge issued by Johnson & Johnson Innovation Co.

June 26, 2018 -- Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and Panda Express are coming to the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State this fall.
