July 7, 2020 -- Nearly 70 years after John and Colleen Wooley first met as students at the University of Wichita, they have established a legacy that will touch the lives of Wichita State University students for generations to come. The couple’s $2.2 million estate gift will provide more than $100,000 in scholarships each year for students with financial need.

May 22, 2020 - Wichita State runner Rebekah Topham needed help with reading when she arrived in 2015. She made great strides with the help of tutors and athletic department resources and carries a 3.89 grade-point average. She wants other struggling students to know her story.

May 13, 2020 - Claudia Rojo graduates this spring and will begin a graduate research assistantship at the National Institute for Aviation Research while finishing her final season of outdoor track eligibility in 2021. Rojo, like all seniors in spring sports, was granted the option to extend their eligibility after the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled spring sports. In 2019, she finished second in the heptathlon in the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.

April 23, 2020 - Wichita State athletics is at home and still working together and planning for a return from COVID-19. A series of podcasts demonstrates how the Shockers are dealing with these circumstances. From coaches such as Keitha Adams (basketball) and Steve Rainbolt (track and field) to Ryleigh Buck (softball), Jack Sigrist (baseball) and Dawson Lewis (golf), the Shockers are using many tactics to stay positive.

April 14, 2020 -- Emerging Artists is an annual showcase of work by many of the best students in the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries. The March 14 event was canceled due to the novel Coronavirus. The group held a virtual awards ceremony through Facebook to celebrate the students' accomplishments.

March 9, 2020 -- The Rudd Foundation is proud to announce its third class of Rudd Scholars who will each receive a 4-year college scholarship to attend either Emporia State University, Fort Hays State University or Wichita State University.

Feb. 26, 2020 -- Wichita State University and WSU Ventures have entered into a new strategic partnership with California-based Lightning Diversion Systems, a Ducommun Company. The partnership involves the exclusive licensing of a lightning strike protection system for rotor blades in the wind turbine industry.

Feb. 26, 2020 -- When Lacie Leatherman needed help filing a patent for her business, she turned to WSU’s Gateway to IP program. As a part of WSU Ventures, Gateway to IP is designed to advance innovation while protecting intellectual property.
