Students and faculty - get up to $20,000 from the John A. See Innovation Award
The John A. See Innovation Award is to be applied directly to advancing the technology. Ideally, this will support additional investment by others. Examples of supported costs are prototype development, product testing and marketing analysis. The award cannot be used for faculty salaries but may be used to pay for external consulting fees. Awards typically range from $1,000 to $20,000.

What should I do if I have a concern about my class?
Learning in the middle of a pandemic is full of challenges. When students have a concern about their classroom experience, the first step they should take is to have a conversation with their instructor.
Tips for speaking with your professor
If you are not able to resolve your concern with your instructor, contact the department chairperson for the department where the course is offered to share your concerns.
These steps should help address classroom concerns.

The Shocker Support Locker is open for the academic year
The Shocker Support Locker is open to all Wichita State University students, faculty and staff and offers anyone who needs it access to food, clothing, toiletries, and baby/family products. The Shocker Support Locker is coordinated and managed by the Student Government Association.
To limit the spread of COVID-19, all students, faculty or staff are asked to complete the Shocker Support Locker Order Form to request items from the Shocker Support Locker until further notice. Locker staff will contact the user to coordinate a pick-up time between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday for the fall semester.

Veteran and Military Art Expo hosted by Veterans Upward Bound is seeking art entries now until Oct. 30
Veterans Upward Bound, part of TRIO, is seeking art submissions for our first Virtual Art Expo.
We are seeking all types of art from veterans, military (Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard), veteran spouses, military spouses, veteran children, military children and community service providers whose work touches the military and/or veteran community.
With your art, please include a short narrative or recording about what it means to you and why you were inspired to create it.
WSU students and staff who meet the entry criteria are strongly encouraged to submit an entry!
This is a non-competitive show, just an expo for you to display your creative side! The expo will be held on VUB’s YouTube channel from Nov. 2 through Nov. 20.

The International Student Union announces Fall 2020 INTERFEST: International Food Festival from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 14), on the lawn of Neff Hall.
Each semester, WSU students prepare and sell dishes from their native countries for this event. The festival provides a platform for intercultural sharing where the WSU community and visitors can try out diverse cuisine and learn about the origins and cultural significance of a particular dish. It also serves as a fundraiser for international student associations, although small groups of students also participate to have as many diverse dishes as possible.

You’re invited to the third and final Black & Yellow Scrimmage at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in Charles Koch Arena, featuring the Shocker Volleyball team. Admission is free for all fans, and capacity is limited to 2,000.

Seeking college applicants for Reproductive Justice Leadership Institute
URGE: Unite for Reproductive and Gender Equity is seeking applicants for the Reproductive Justice Leadership Institute (RJLI) to empower young people, especially college students, to gain resources, build networks, and learn more about the reproductive justice movement. This free institute is a weekend-long conference and is open to people ages 18-25 living in Kansas. For those who are selected to attend, URGE will provide meal stipends for the entire weekend. We will also accommodate all accessibility needs and dietary restrictions.
This year the RJLI is happening Oct. 22-25 virtually! Applications are online at bit.ly/ksRJLI20 and will be open until Friday, Oct. 16. Those who are accepted into the institute will be added to the cohort, and they will have access to monthly training sessions, stipend applications, conference scholarships, and so much more!

Business students are collecting canned food and personal hygiene products for those in need
Business students in Management 463 are operating a Remote Food and Necessities Drive now through Thanksgiving to aid those affected by Covid-19. Non-perishable canned food, and hygiene items like soap, lotion, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products are in great need.
We can arrange porch pickup of food and supplies via our Facebook Page to encourage social distancing, or we have local drop-off locations at area businesses and the south entrance of the Rhatigan Student Center (by the parking lot). We also accept monetary donations to the Kansas Food Bank via our Facebook Page.
