RESEARCH

Research participants wanted

We are students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Wichita State. We are looking for participants for our research study on how electronically mediated therapy affects chronic low back pain. Your participation may help the field of physical therapy to more effectively understand and treat chronic low back pain in a technological age using at-home therapy services.

If chosen to participate, you will be asked to come to complete an 8-week, home exercise program that will be monitored via e-mail. The exercise program won’t require external resistance (weights, resistance bands, etc.). You will be asked to fill out one questionnaire prior to starting the program and two questionnaires at the end of the program. If you are chosen to be in the control group, your only responsibility will be to fill out two surveys in the span of 8 weeks.

If interested, fill out the survey. It will only take about 10 minutes. After completing the survey, you will receive an email with further information

Your participation is graciously appreciated. Responses will remain confidential. If you have questions/concerns, please email Austin Foley at amfoley1@shockers.wichita.edu.

Complete a survey and earn a chance at a $25 gift card

The Kansas Board of Regents wants your help with accessing internet quality and access across the state. Please consider completing a short survey and have a chance to receive a $25 gift card.

Learn more about the survey

The Institute for Policy & Social Research (IPSR) at the University of Kansas is conducting a study on broadband access and affordability in Kansas. The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of internet access for schools, households, health care, and the economy. Researchers at the University of Kansas are conducting a survey and speed test to gather data about the availability and quality of internet service in Kansas, including to identify locations that lack internet or broadband service.

The information provided by survey participants will help researchers identify geographic regions as well as populations that lack reliable and affordable internet access and create policy recommendations that will benefit these regions and populations by improving internet access and affordability.

If you are currently residing or located within the state of Kansas, we ask that you review the information statement at https://ipsr.ku.edu/broadband/regents.shtml and then complete the speed test and survey. This survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. The content of the survey should cause no more discomfort than you would experience in your everyday life and your participation is strictly voluntary. All responses are anonymous and confidential and will only be viewed by the research team. It is possible however with internet communications that through intent or accident someone other than the intended recipient may see your responses.

Participants will have the option to enter their email address to win one of 200 $25 gift cards to amazon.com. You will only be able to enter once and your email address will not be associated with any survey responses.

Thank you for your participation! We believe that the information obtained from this study will help us gain a better understanding of internet availability that will benefit Kansas communities. We hope that your responses will aid us in our efforts to provide better internet access for all Kansans.
