University Libraries sets new hours for Shocker community
University Libraries is preparing to start welcoming Shockers back into the building. We have been working diligently to create a safe, welcoming experience for our students, staff and faculty, while maintaining safety protocols found in the Shockers United plan. While we are staffing to provide service hours to the Shocker community, please note that many Libraries employees will continue working remotely.

New hours for Chick-Fil-A and Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes
Chick-Fil-A and the Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes will both reopen on Monday, June 1.
Initial operating hours for Chick-Fil-A are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday.
At Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes, initial hours will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday. The complete menu will be served for either carry-out or dine-in, with social distancing measures in place.
Additionally, starting June 8, the bowling lanes, pool tables and dart boards will be open. They will have social distancing protocols for these, as well as disinfecting procedures after every use. Hours of operation will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis and may change at any time.
Please use Student Health's main entrance starting June 1
Starting June 1, please use the main entrance for the Student Wellness Center in the lobby of the Steve Clark YMCA. If you are experiencing fever, cough or other symptoms of illness, please call Student Health at 978-4792 before coming into the center.

The first half of the new and improved Academic Resources Conference will take place online via Zoom during the week of June 8. Sign up for trainings now via myTraining.
The Academic Resources Conference is Wichita State's largest instructor training event, and this year is greatly expanded and available fully online. All instructors of any rank, student facing staff and faculty support staff are likely to benefit from this event. If you are interested, you are invited! Zoom events will run the week of June 8 and the week of Aug. 10, and online / on-demand events will be available all summer through the ARC website.

We miss your face! So, this year we are also offering fun, social events each evening from 6-6:50 p.m. These "Cocktail Hour" events include opportunities to discuss classroom engagement, demonstrations of fun online games (yes, attendees will play), and on Friday night a murder mystery night. Sign up for Cocktail Hour events early as their caps are low. No alcohol required for Cocktail Hour, of course.

Shocker I-Corps applications are due Friday.
Do you have a STEM-related product, idea or service? The Shocker I-Corps program helps teams gain valuable insight into industry, entrepreneurship and starting a business. Teams that apply and are accepted will receive up to $2,150 in seed funding, receive mentoring from local experts and receive entrepreneurial training. Would you like the chance to win a $50 gift card?
Participate in our study. Interviews will last about 60 minutes and will be conducted to examine the school experiences of students from Spanish speaking backgrounds in terms of language and identity. To participate you must be 18 years or older and have attended a U.S. public school at some point in your academic career. We are looking for Hispanic participants from Spanish-speaking backgrounds, whether you speak Spanish yourself or were just raised in a Spanish-speaking environment. All responses will be confidential.

Tuition Assistance applications for fall 2020 are now being accepted through the Online Application Form. The online application will be available through Wednesday, July 1, and will close at the end of this application period.
The fillable PDF form will no longer be accepted. Due to the volume of applications received each semester, requests to submit late applications will be automatically denied. There will be no exceptions.
