Community Engagement Institute team supports KDHE in compiling COVID-19 guidance documents

Since the onset of COVID-19 in Kansas, staff from the Community Engagement Institute’s Center for Applied Research and Evaluation (CARE) have supported the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) in compiling guidance documents for numerous business, nonprofit, and healthcare industries.

Guidance documents were researched and compiled based on existing evidence, data, and guidance from sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, American Public Health Association, and other states’ departments of public health. Members of the CARE team have also assisted KDHE in updating existing guidance documents to reflect the most recent guidance from major public health entities.

Guidance document topics researched include: Guidance for Reopening Colleges and Universities; Caring for COVID-19 Infected People and Preventing Transmission in Homes; Guidance for Law Enforcement; Guidance for Food Pantries; Guidance for Gaming and Casinos; Guidance and Considerations for Youth and Student Programs; Guidance for Businesses to Respond to COVID-19; Guidance for Homeless Shelters; Guidance for Maternal and Child Health Services; Guidance for Optometrists; Postmortem Guidance; and Guidance for Water Recreation Facilities.
