Celebrating FARE's First Year at WSU

The Office of Faculty Advancement, Retention, and Excellence launched in the fall of 2024 with our first event and the opening of dedicated office space in 112 Jardine Hall.

Since hiring Coordinator Dr. Debby Hinsdale in January 2025 to assist Director Jan Twomey, professor of Engineering, we have served more than 100 WSU faculty through workshops, writing intensives, networking events, and more.

Summer "Get Stuff Done" Groups - Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays

Groups will meet through June and July, in person and online. Wednesdays will have groups from 9-12 and 1-4, with a writing circle from 4-5; Thursdays meet online from 1-3 pm; Fridays meet from 1-5 pm on alternating weeks, beginning May 29. Email fare@wichita.edu for more info.

AI-Assisted Course-Development Group - Every other Friday, 1-5 pm, starting June 5

Every other Friday from 1-5 pm, through the summer, a group of faculty interested in using AI tools to improve their courses will meet to work on course development. Meetings will start June 5 in Jardine 112 and continue through July.
