Human Performance Studies Undergraduate Majors:

If you have been accepted into the HPS Exercise Science major – Congratulations! You are now eligible to consider participation in the HPS Exercise Science Honors Program.

To apply:

1. Submit completed online application form. Before submission, please see instructions at the end of the form on first retaining an HPS faculty member as our project advisor.

2. Attach your one-page letter (double spaced letter describing reasons for applying to the honors track, program goals, and potential benefits to participating in the program) (and optional resume) at the bottom.

Application Deadlines:

Fall: August 1

Important notes:

1. You must be coded as an HPS major before application can be considered.

2. Must have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPS in all HPS courses taken or in progress at the time of application.

3. Must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of HPS Honors course work and 3 credit hours of HPS 595H Human Performance Research Honors along with senior presentation. Total of 15 HPS Honors credit hours.

4. Honors students are required to be active members of the Exercise Science Student Organization (ESSO). ESSO membership information is available by contacting an ESSO representative, reviewing the ESSO student board in the Heskett Center hallway, or in the department office.
