The Partnership for the Advancement of Sport Management (PASM) was established by the Department of Sport Management at Wichita State University in 2013.
The purpose of the PASM is to serve the profession and society as a resource regarding sport management knowledge and practice for the purpose of advancing the field and its impact on key constituents. PASM activities are expected to include:
- Enhance linkages with practitioners and other academics in the field of sport management.
- Engage in interdisciplinary networking and scholarship.
- Provide a forum for faculty, staff, students, practitioners, and/or community members to present and disseminate professional information and scholarship.
- Work with sport organizations in order to provide both faculty and students with professional experiences and improve the organizations effectiveness.
Mission statement
To serve the profession and society as a resource regarding sport management knowledge
and practice for the purpose of advancing the field and its impact on key constituents.
Why PASM?
As a regional leader in sport management education and practitioner partnerships,
we saw an opportunity to increase the opportunities for interaction among community
members, sport practitioners, students and faculty. By establishing the Partnership
for the Advancement of Sport Management, we hope to provide a forum for people to
connect with sport-related topics and to develop solutions for sport-related issues,
problems or barriers. In order to accomplish the partnership's mission, PASM will
engage in a number of initiatives.
