Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI), 2016. BOAL worked with the Admissions Office, Ennovar, and SURL, all at Wichita State University to develop a paperless approach to judging candidates in the large annual DSI competition event https://www.wichita.edu/dsi

Operation Evaluation of Airxcel, 2016. Directed a group of MBA students to evaluate the Operations of Airxcel (http://www.airxcel.com) and offer recommendations for improvements, Wichita, KS. The company decided to implement the recommendations. Not Compensated.

Operations Management Focus Group, 2016. participated in a focus group put together by the McGraw Hill Company at our yearly international Decision Sciences Institute conference to discuss the future of books in Operations and Supply Chain management courses.

Led Kaizen Events to Improve Operations, 2015. Helped design and run Kaizen Events at Wescon Controls (http://www.wesconcontrols.com) with different teams of employees. Worked closely with the company's' VP of Operations, VP for Quality, and the plant manager. Initially, met with the leadership of the company and took a plant tour of their facility, Wichita, KS.

Enterprise Resource Planning Software & Operations Management Strategy, 2014-2015. Helped Envision Industries (http://www.envisionus.com) select an ERP system and integrate it with their operations strategy. Initially, met with the VP of Operations and his team to discuss Envisions' Operations and took a plant tour of their facility, Wichita, KS.

Operations Management Strategy & Training Needs 2013. Met with the leadership of the Bradbury Group (http://www.bradburygroup.com) to discuss their operations strategy and training needs. Also, took a plant tour of their facility, Moundridge, KS.

Training Needs Assessment, 2013. Met with the leadership of Leading Technologies Inc. (http://www.ltc-ltc.com) to discuss their training need, Wichita, KS.

Operations Management Strategy, 2012. Met with the Business School dean and the leadership of Kansas Electric (http://www.kansaselectric.com) to discuss their operations strategy and growth obstacles. Prepared a proposal to improve their operations, Newton, KS.

Operations Management Focus Group, 2010. Invited by McGraw-Hill Company to participate in a focus group with a selected number of professors from different universities in the USA to discuss Operations Management trends, Chicago, IL.

Assessment of a Small Service Business Operations, 2009. Assessed the Operations function of Dealers Leasing (http://leasefinancepartners.com). Mapped their critical business processes and offered recommendations to improve their operations and cut costs, Wichita, KS.

Operations Management Trends, 2008. Discussed (over WebEx) trends in Operations Management with other Professors as part of revising a book for Pearson Publishing.

Supply Chain Review, 2008. Conducted an Operations Review and Assessment for the Aircraft Modification Supply Chain for the Boeing Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) -Wichita Site, Wichita, KS. Initially, met with the leadership team to discuss their Supply Chain Strategy, and took a plant tour.

ERP-Enterprise Resource Planning, 2006-2007. Conducted two studies to assess student satisfaction with an old homegrown student information system (SOS) and a new ERP system at Wichita State University, Wichita, KS. Met numerous times with the ERP Project Champion and his team.

Supply Chain Practices, 2005. Discussed Supply Chain Practices with the VP of Supply Chain and VP of Operations at Raytheon Aircraft, Wichita, KS.

Operations Benchmarking Reports, 2006. Developed and mailed customized benchmarking reports for over 40 companies, which participated in a survey on supply chain and information technology practices. The reports were mailed to companies nationwide.

Assembly Line Balancing, 2000-2005. Developed a new model to balance the Assembly Line of the Hawker 800XP Aircraft at Raytheon Aircraft, Wichita,

ERP-Enterprise Resource Planning, 2002-2003. Provided ad-hoc advice about ERP systems to administrators at Wichita State University, Wichita, KS.

Six Sigma, 2002. Participated in a seminar on Six Sigma Specialist Training for Raytheon Aircraft, Wichita, KS.

Operations Project, 2001. Analyzed the shortage of parts after an ERP implementation at Raytheon Aircraft, Wichita, KS.

Kaizen Event, 2000. Participated in a Kaizen Event at Raytheon Aircraft, Wichita, KS. Kaizen is the Japanese word for continuous improvement.

Inventory Control, 1999. Took a plant tour to study the Operations of Raytheon Aircraft, Wichita, KS.

Spreadsheet Modeling, 1997. Discussed with the Senior Editor of Decision Sciences at Prentice Hall the idea of including spreadsheet models in Operations Management textbooks.

Information Systems Project, 1996 – 1997. Designed and developed a computer-based Information System for a small business, General Plastic Extrusions Inc. in Prescott, Wisconsin to improve their Operations.
