FREDS is the largest and most diverse department in the School of Business offering
two undergraduate majors (Finance and MIS) and two graduate programs (Supply Chain
Management and Business Analytics). FREDS houses several disciplines (Decision Sciences,
Real Estate, Finance, MIS, Supply Chain, and Business Analytics). At the end of my
2nd term as department chair, student enrollment grew by 58% and number of faculty
grew by 30%.

Developed an interdisciplinary MSBA program together with Computer Science and Mathematics
and sought approval from the Kansas Board of Regents. We predicted the enrollments
of 10, 25, and 35 students in the first 3 years of the program. Enrollments way exceeded
our predictions and reached 138 students, a 58% increase from the 1st semester, in
Spring 2024 after graduating close to 80 students.

Distinguished Scholarship Invitational (DSI). BOAL worked with the Admissions Office, Ennovar, and SURL, all at Wichita State University
to develop a paperless approach to judging candidates in the large annual DSI competition event https://www.wichita.edu/dsi
Operation Evaluation of Airxcel. Directed a group of MBA students to evaluate the Operations of Airxcel (http://www.airxcel.com) and offer recommendations for improvements, Wichita, KS. The company decided to implement
the recommendations. Not Compensated.
Led Kaizen Events to Improve Operations. Helped design and run Kaizen Events at Wescon Controls (http://www.wesconcontrols.com) with different teams of employees. Worked closely with the company's' VP of Operations,
VP for Quality, and the plant manager. Initially, met with the leadership of the company
and took a plant tour of their facility, Wichita, KS.
Enterprise Resource Planning Software & Operations Management Strategy. Helped Envision Industries (http://www.envisionus.com) select an ERP system and integrate it with their operations strategy. Initially, met with the VP of Operations and his team to discuss Envisions' Operations and took a plant tour of their facility, Wichita, KS.
Operations Management Strategy. Met with the leadership of the Bradbury Group (http://www.bradburygroup.com) to discuss their operations strategy and training needs. Also, took a plant tour of their facility, Moundridge, KS.

Assessment of a Small Service Business Operations. Assessed the Operations function of Dealers Leasing (http://leasefinancepartners.com). Mapped their critical business processes and offered recommendations to improve their operations and cut costs, Wichita, KS.
Supply Chain Review. Conducted an Operations Review and Assessment for the Aircraft Modification Supply Chain for the Boeing Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) -Wichita Site, Wichita, KS. Initially, met with the leadership team to discuss their Supply Chain Strategy, and took a plant tour.
ERP-Enterprise Resource Planning. Conducted two studies to assess student satisfaction with an old homegrown student information system (SOS) and a new ERP system at Wichita State University, Wichita, KS. Met numerous times with the ERP Project Champion and his team.
Supply Chain Practices. Discussed Supply Chain Best Practices with the VP of Supply Chain and VP of Operations at Raytheon Aircraft, Wichita, KS.
Operations Benchmarking Reports. Developed and mailed customized benchmarking reports for over 40 companies, which participated in a survey on supply chain and information technology practices. The reports were mailed to companies nationwide.
Assembly Line Balancing. Developed a new model to balance the Assembly Line of the Hawker 800XP Aircraft at Raytheon Aircraft, Wichita,
ERP-Enterprise Resource Planning. Provided ad-hoc advice about ERP systems to administrators at Wichita State University, Wichita, KS.
