Undergraduate Certificate in Health Equity and Leadership
The certificate program has three (3) goals:
- To train future professionals on health disparities and health inequality through an interdisciplinary set of courses.
- To train individuals to identify the underlying causes of health inequalities.
- To train them how to develop and lead the implementation of effective solutions.
Upon successful completion of the certificate program, students will:
- Know about current health disparities, the prevalence, and impact on populations.
- Know about underlying causes and social determinants of health.
- Be familiar with theories regarding health inequities.
- Be able to identify, describe, and suggest possible solutions to address/reduce health inequalities in different populations.
Students have to complete 6 credit hours of required courses and select 9 credit hours of elective courses, for a total of 15 credit hours.
