PL-566 Watershed Projects

The USDA through the Missouri Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provides technical and financial assistance to help watersheds solve natural resource and related economic problems on a watershed basis.

Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) Grant

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provides funding through Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) grants for planning, projects or public awareness to reduce flood risks to the population or structures disasters.

The Section 108 Loan Guarantee Program provides communities with financing for economic development, housing rehabilitation, public facilities, and other physical development projects, including improvements to increase resilience against natural disasters.

Section 319 Nonpoint Source Pollution Grants

The EPA provides funding to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to assist communities/organizations that have approved Nine-Element Watershed Management Plans with the implementation of the Plan’s best management practices and associated activities in order to restore and protect waters that have been impaired or threatened by nonpoint source pollution (NPS).

A Soil and Water Conservation Subdistrict may be formed to carry out watershed protection and flood prevention programs.

Tree Resource Improvement and Maintenance (TRIM) Grant

The TRIM program is designed to help Missouri communities initiate and improve their efforts to care for publicly owned trees.

Urban Waters Small Grants

The EPA Urban Waters Program is helping grow local businesses and enhancing educational, recreational, social, and employment opportunities by investing in healthy and accessible urban waters.  

Water & Waste Disposal Loan & Grant Program

The Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program helps very small, financially distressed rural communities extend and improve water and waste treatment facilities that serve local households and businesses.

The USEPA provides funds to develop or refine programs that protect, manage and restore wetlands. The focus of this grant is to develop or refine state/local/tribal wetland programs.
