Paper Grader

Paper Graders are hired per semester at the status of regular student employees. Official length of employment is a single semester. To be considered for continued employment, an application must be re-submitted each semester.

Applicants should possess a strong background in Mathematics and/or Statistics, and are expected to exhibit sufficient knowledge required to perform at the course levels for which they are applying. Attention to detail and ability to work independently are a must.

Grading procedures and deadlines are at the discretion of, and supplied by, each faculty member employing a grader. Therefore, procedures and deadlines vary. Responsibilities include collection of assignments, grading according to guidelines set forth by assigned faculty, and return of assignments by established deadlines.

Math Lab Employee

Math Lab Tutors are hired per semester at the status of regular student employees. Official length of employment is a single semester. Consideration for future employment is dependent on performance in the Lab.

Applicants must possess a strong background in Mathematics and/or Statistics. All applicants will take a Math Assessment test as a part of the application process to help determine math abilities. Applicants should have a pleasant well-groomed appearance, positive attitude and be able to work well with others. Applicants must possess good oral English skills, be active listeners, be able to employ patience when working with students and be reliable. Previous tutoring experience is helpful.

In addition to tutoring students, duties include being responsible for opening and closing the Lab, administering tests to students, and maintaining the appearance of the Lab. It is expected that all tutors will arrive on time and work their designated hours.

Interested individuals may obtain an application in the Math Office, Room 355 JB.

The Math Lab is now taking applications for Spring 2024 Tutors. The application process is taking place entirely on Blackboard now through Friday, December 8th, 2023.

After joining the organization, you’ll complete:

  2. The application form
