School of Social Work Scholarships

The School of Social Work is able to offer two endowed undergraduate scholarships and four graduate fellowships.

Applications are done online and are accepted from November 1 to February 1 each year. When you submit your online application you are also considered for the other scholarships offered through the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Undergraduate Scholarships

Edward H. Tuttle Scholarship

The Edward H. Tuttle Scholarship fund was established for social work majors in 1994 in honor of Edward H. Tuttle, first director of the social work program. Scholarships are awarded annually to junior or senior social work students. To be considered for the Tuttle Scholarship, a student should have full admission into the social work program, an overall GPA of 2.5 or above and financial need.

Anne Marie Underhill Endowed Scholarship in Social Work

The Anne Marie Underhill Endowed Scholarship in Social Work was established in 2003 by Lee D. Underhill. This scholarship is awarded to a student with academic merit and financial need.

Graduate Fellowships

Edward H. Tuttle Fellowship

The Edward H. Tuttle Fellowship fund was established for graduate students in the Wichita State University Master of Social Work program. To be considered for the Tuttle fellowship, a student must demonstrate academic excellence, at least a 3.0 GPA, and interest in social work as a scholarly pursuit. Awards will be made without regard to financial need.

Naomi Anderson Fellowship

The Naomi Anderson Fellowship was established for graduate students in social work. To be considered for this fellowship, a student must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Preference is given to members of Delta Delta Delta sorority, then to other Greek fraternities or sororities who meet the requirements. Awards will be made without regard to financial need.

Karen Countryman-Roswurm Fellowship

The Karen Countryman-Roswurm Fellowship was established for graduate students enrolled full tim in the School of Social Work at Wichita State University. To be considered for the Countryman-Roswurm fellowship, a student must have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. Awards will be made with regard to financial need.

Vera Hutton Seamans Fellowship

The Vera Hutton Seamans Fellowship was established in 1971 by Herbert L. Seamans. This fellowship is awarded to graduate students in social work or religion with financial need. Offered by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
