“I have come to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood.” ~~Audre Lorde

What is the Global Village Assembly?

The Global Village Assembly is an annual open mic event hosted by the Department of Women's, Ethnicity, and Intersectional Studies (WEIS). Each year, it centers on a theme relevant and related to current converstaions on gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, class, and the intersectional experience at WSU. This event is open to students, faculty, and staff across the university and is a unique opportunity to share about life at WSU and consider changes that we can all do to provide a more equitable space of belonging.

Thank you for a wonderful 2023 Global Village Assembly! We look forward to seeing you at the 2024 GVA in the fall!
