This survey is intended for students enrolled in the School of Art, Design and Creative Industries Foundations classes to get a general sense of their degree plans moving forward.

We would like to find out what your future degree plans are so we can plan classes accordingly. Currently, you are all in the Bachelor of Arts, Art Emphasis degree. This is a general Bachelor of Arts degree that is quite flexible. It essentially lets you create your own degree path from all the classes we offer. As you move into next year, you will have the chance to choose a more particular path if you want to. You will have the following options:

Bachelor of Arts, Art Emphasis. The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in art degree with an art emphasis is designed for students who want to combine a broad training in art and design with additional areas of study.

Bachelor of Arts, Art History Emphasis. The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in art degree with an art history emphasis provides a thorough grounding in the liberal arts, provides students with the opportunity for real-life experience through partnerships with local arts organizations, and prepares them for their professional pursuits or graduate studies in art history, museum studies, conservation and art criticism.

Bachelor of Fine Arts, Art Education Emphasis PK-12. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in art degree with an art education emphasis is designed for students who want to prepare for a career in teaching the visual arts in grades prekindergarten through the 12th grade. The art teacher must develop competencies in general educational studies, professional teacher education, and a range of art and design skills.

Bachelor of Fine Arts, Graphic Design. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in art degree with an art education emphasis is designed for students who want to prepare for a career in teaching the visual arts in grades prekindergarten through the 12th grade. The art teacher must develop competencies in general educational studies, professional teacher education, and a range of art and design skills.

Bachelor of Fine Arts, Art – Studio Art. ADCI studio arts majors benefit from access to studio space, multiple exhibition venues, and new technology. Students choose from seven different studio art concentrations
