All master's and doctoral students are required to complete Professional and Scholarly Integrity Training (PSIT) as part of their degree requirements. Students should complete the PSIT requirement as soon as possible, preferably within the first year of your graduate education at Wichita State.
At a minimum, the training covers these four topical areas:
- Research misconduct;
- Publication practices and responsible authorship;
- Conflict of interest and commitment; and
- Ethical issues in data acquisition, management, sharing and ownership.
Each department determines how the PSIT requirement is met for students, and if additional training is needed. Some departments add courses to their curriculum, adjust content in existing required courses, or use Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) modules to meet the PSIT requirement.
