The mission of the Cohen Honors College Student Council is to develop a strong sense
of community and common identity among Honors students by providing opportunity and
serving as a refuge to all students of the Cohen Honors College. The Council will
use innovative approaches to identify and address the challenges and needs of all
Honors students and serve as the voice of students through communication with the
staff, faculty and Dean of the Cohen Honors College.
Selection of council members will be made by a committee comprised of Honors staff
and students. Open positions include the Director of Marketing & Events and First
Year Representative.
You will be notified as to whether or not you have been selected by August 27.
Ex Officio Council Members
The council members listed below are selected to serve by other organizations or university offices and are not available through this application process.
- Living Learning Community resident assistant or representative: selected by Housing and Residence Life, updates council and coordinates events in consultation/collaboration with council and WHEAT
- Student Government Association (SGA) Honors Senators or senator’s designee: selected by student vote, updates council on SGA initiatives and consults council for feedback
- WHEAT President or president’s designee: selected by WHEAT student organization vote, updates council and coordinates events in consultation/collaboration with council and resident assistant
- Honors Dean
- Honors Advisor
