Great Plains Honors Council Conference Submissions Due This Sunday

The Great Plains Honors Council is a great conference for all students, particularly students who have never presented at a conference. It is a student-friendly intellectual community of regional Honors programs and colleges. Visit the conference website for more information.

Submissions for oral presentation, poster, and paper awards (cash prizes) must be emailed to honors@wichita.edu by Sunday, February 7 at 5 p.m.

Seniors - Apply for the Outstanding Cohen Honors Student Award

The award recognizes a high-achieving senior leader who takes on challenges and demonstrates commitment to academic excellence in Honors.

Cohen Enhancement Scholarship Deadline Extended

A generous gift from Dorothy and Bill Cohen allows the Cohen Honors College to fulfill its mission of joining knowledge and innovation to grow visionaries. Cohen Enhancement Scholarships of up to $4000 support current Honors students in activities such as study abroad, National Student Exchange, unpaid internships, national conferences, undergraduate research, or service learning.

The Cohen Enhancement Scholarship February 1 deadline has been extended to Monday, February 15. Click here to apply.


Apply for the Honors Student Fee Scholarship

The Honors Student Council has instituted a scholarship fund to alleviate any financial burden placed on students by the Honors Student Fee.

The application contains a 250 word essay. Applications are evaluated by the Student Council. If selected, this scholarship will cover half of the applicant's $50 Honors Student Fee for the Spring 2021 semester. Preference will be given to applicants who do not receive the Honors Merit Scholarship. Applicants will need to reapply every semester.

Shocker Promise: A New Scholarship Program

Shocker Promise provides last-dollar funding to 2020-2021 high school graduates from the Shocker Neighborhood. The deadline has been extended to Monday, March 1. Click here for more details.


Participate in the Virtual Dream Run

Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Inc. is excited to announce the 2021 Virtual Dream Run! This annual event will raise funds for undocumented students who are ineligible to receive federal financial aid. All of the proceeds will go towards creating more scholarships for these students. COVID-19 Funding for Students

The Office of Financial Aid is offering short-term emergency aid for qualifying students. It is intended for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19. For more information, including instructions on how to submit an application to the Office of Financial Aid, click here.

Spaces are still available in HNRS 306J Lead for Tomorrow (Leadership Academy), HNRS 310Q Engaging Leaders, HNRS 310R Evolving Leaders, and HNRS 310S Emerging Leaders.


Important Academic Dates

TODAY (February 5) is the last day to add a regular term course
Next Friday (February 12) is the last day to make payment arrangements AND the last day to get a 100% refund for a dropped course


Turn a Regular Course into an Honors Course!

You can modify a non-Honors course by completing an Honors Option Agreement Form. You will work with your instructor to design the Honors criteria. If you have any questions, email jessica.raburn@wichita.edu.
