How online learning works at Wichita State

Wichita State University uses Blackboard as its online learning platform. Through Blackboard, you can access your course materials, assignments, grades, and communicate with your instructors and classmates online at your convenience.

All courses in fully online programs are asynchronous, which means you can log in and complete your coursework on your own schedule. Online courses follow Wichita State’s traditional academic calendar, with either 8‑week or 16‑week formats. While online courses offer flexibility and convenience, they often require strong self‑discipline, time management, and consistent participation to be successful.
