 Summer 2027 London Travel Seminar

Travel Seminar Scholarships up to $3,000 available!

Summer Class Information
  • Classes:
    • ENGL 580L: Travel Seminar (1 or 3 credit hours - for English majors/minors)
    • LASI 398: Travel Seminar (1 or 3 credit hours - for non-English majors/minors)
  • Professors: Dr. Francis Connor and Dr. Katie Lanning
  • Open to all students at WSU - undergraduate and graduate
  • Honors students: Earn credit toward your honors requirements with 3 credit hour option
Cultural Benefits and Activities
  • Connects classroom learning with real-world experiences
  • Experience British culture
  • Visit London sites including museums and other places of interest:
    • Westminster Abbey
    • Tower of London
    • Shakespeare’s Globe
    • Tate Modern
    • St Paul’s Cathedral
    • Theatre show
  • Full day excursion to the city of Canterbury including a guided walking tour and entry to Canterbury Cathedral
  • Enjoy free time in London to explore on your own

*Generally, all travel seminar programs will require a lot of walking and often times, be fast paced with each day packed full of activities.  Please be aware of this type of program when deciding if it would be a good fit for you.  If you have any questions/concerns, please reach out to studyabroad@wichita.edu

Program Costs

Program Costs:

Program Fee of approximately $4800 (flight included). Students also have the option to book their own flights with a Program Fee of approximately $3600 (flight excluded).

  • Double or triple occupancy rooms
  • Daily breakfast, welcome dinner
  • Travel pass: Oyster Card for unlimited travel on the underground, buses, trams and regional trains in the zones 1 & 2 of London for the duration of the program
  • All activities listed on the detailed itinerary
  • International health insurance

Additional Costs (not included in program fee) approximately $500:

  • Uncovered meals
  • Personal expenses

Cost of regular WSU tuition and fees at summer 2027 rate (1 to 3 credit hours)

$130 WSU Study Abroad application and administrative fees

Tentative Payment Dates:

  • First payment ($450) of Program Fee is due on February 5, 2027 (if students cancel after February 5 and before March 14, they forfeit the $450 payment)
  • Final payment of Program Fee is due on March 14, 2027 (if students cancel after March 14, the entire program fee is due and forfeited
Flights and Housing

Flights:

  • Students will have the option to travel with the professor and classmates (flight included in $4800 Program Costs) or to book flights on their own (flight excluded from $3600 Program Costs)
  • This provides the student flexibility on when/where they would like to arrive/depart Europe in the case they would like to travel to other cities or countries before or after the travel seminar
  • Fly in and out of London Heathrow (LHR) at the designated times for airport transfers to/from hotel

Housing:

  • Students will stay in a double or triple occupancy hotel room within London

Complete the General WSU Study Abroad Application Form.

Complete payment of $130 WSU Study Abroad application and administrative fees (charged to WSU student account) – once your application has been submitted you will receive instructions on completing these payments.
