Summer Class Information
  • Classes:
    • ENGL 580L: Travel Seminar (1 or 3 credit hours - for English majors/minors)
    • LASI 398: Travel Seminar (1 or 3 credit hours - for non-English majors/minors)
  • Professors: Dr. Francis Connor and Dr. Katie Lanning
  • Open to all students at WSU - undergraduate and graduate
  • Honors students: Earn credit toward your honors requirements with 3 credit hour option
Cultural Benefits and Activities

Program Costs

Program Costs:

  • Program Fee of approximately $3,285:
    • Double or triple occupancy rooms
    • Daily breakfast, welcome dinner, and farewell dinner
    • Travel pass: Oyster Card for unlimited travel on the underground, buses, trams and regional trains in the zones 1 & 2 of London for the duration of the program
    • All activities listed on the detailed itinerary
    • International health insurance
    • Airport transfers (if you arrive and depart at the designated times to LHR airport)
  • Additional Costs (not included in program fee) approximately $1,800:
    • Roundtrip flight from Wichita and airline baggage fees
    • Airport transfers (if you don’t arrive and depart at the designated times to LHR airport)
    • Uncovered meals
    • Personal expenses
  • Cost of regular WSU tuition and fees at summer 2025 rate (1 or 3 credit hours)
  • $130 WSU Study Abroad application and administrative fees

Tentative Payment Dates:

  • First payment ($450) of Program Fee to AIFS is due on February 10, 2025 (if students cancel after February 10 and before March 21, they forfeit the $450 payment)
  • Final payment of Program Fee to AIFS is due on March 21, 2025 (if students cancel after March 21, the entire program fee is due and forfeited)

Flights and Housing

Flights:

  • Students will be responsible for purchasing their own roundtrip flight but provides the student flexibility on when/where they would like to arrive/depart Europe in the case they would like to travel to other cities or countries before or after the travel seminar
  • Students will have the option to travel with the professor, or you can purchase with other students to travel together
  • Fly in and out of London Heathrow (LHR) at the designated times for airport transfers to/from hotel

Housing:

  • Students will stay in a double or triple occupancy hotel room within London
How to Apply

Complete the General WSU Study Abroad Application Form.

Complete payment of $130 WSU Study Abroad application and administrative fees (charged to WSU student account) – once your application has been submitted you will receive instructions on completing these payments.
