Transfer Merit Scholarships, $4,000 - $6,000
We understand one of the most important factors in choosing a college is affordability.
That's why we offer automatic, renewable merit scholarships to incoming transfer students
valued up to $6,000 over two years! Plus, transfer students can apply for additional
scholarships from their college!

Admission Deadlines
Spring Transfers: Must be admitted & degree-bound for spring by December 1. Students who choose to
transfer to Wichita State during the spring semester will be considered for Transfer
Merit scholarships awarded for the following fall semester.
Fall Transfers: Must be admitted & degree-bound for fall by April 1. Offers after April 1 will be
based on available funds.
Who is Eligible?
New, incoming domestic transfer students planning to enroll full-time (12 or more
credit hours per semester).
Students must be directly transferring from another college/university, fully admitted
as degree-bound students, and working on their first bachelor’s degree.
Students must be transferring at least 12 credit hours and have fewer than 75 transfer
hours at the end of the fall term prior to their initial semester at Wichita State.
Students must submit updated college transcript(s) including all transfer credit hours
prior to their corresponding entry (fall or spring) semester at Wichita State.
Students must have a minimum 3.25 transfer GPA.
When Do Awards Begin?
Scholarship offers begin in mid-November for the following academic year and continue
through April 1 or until available funding is exhausted, whichever comes first.
About the Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded for two consecutive academic years (excluding summers)or
to the point where the student earns their first bachelor's degree, whichever comes
first. Students must maintain good academic standing at Wichita State to maintain
eligibility for this scholarship award. The scholarship can only be applied to direct
costs; tuition, student fees and on-campus housing. (Cannot be applied to deposits
-- i.e. – housing deposit.)
Renewal Requirements
Maintain a minimum 3.0 overall and semester GPA and
Enroll in and successfully earn at least 12 credit hours each semester (fall and spring).
Phi Theta Kappa All-Academic Team Scholarship, $1,000
The Phi Theta Kapp (PTK) Scholarship provides a one-year award of $1,000 for named
PTK All-Kansas Academic Team Members, first-time, full-time transfers with a minimum
overall transfer GPA of 3.25.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must be named a PTK All-Kansas Academic Team member (not just be a member
of PTK).
Students must be fully admitted to Wichita State University in a degree-bound program
by May 1 and be a first-time, full-time transfer student.
Students must have a minimum 3.25 overall transfer GPA.
Award
The PTK Scholarship is a one-year, $1,000 non-renewable scholarship.
The PTK Scholarship is stackable with the Transfer Merit Scholarship, if applicable.
