Request for Remote Work
Remote work requests may be approved where: 1) the university can reasonably support such a request, 2) the arrangement is approved by the employee and the appropriate university leader(s), and 3) the remote work does not pose a risk to the employee or the university. Employees and/or leaders who are interested in exploring a remote work arrangement should consult their Human Resource Business Partner and the university’s Remote Work Guidance.
Employees are required to complete a Remote Work Request Form when:
- The Remote Work will be “Regular”and will be performed at an Alternate Work Location outside of the state of Kansas; or
- The Employee is on an H1B/VISA and the Alternate Work Location is different than the Assigned Work Site approved on the H1B/VISA application.
Please refer to the Remote Work Guidance for defined terms. Pursuant to WSU Policy 3.52, the University no longer permits international remote work. Any work conducted outside the United States must comply with WSU Policy 13.20 (Out-of-State / International Travel), which allows only for approved, temporary travel of 21 days or less.
