OPT Filing Options
When applying for post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT), students have two options: apply by mail with paper documents or apply online by creating an account with USCIS. Processing times are the same for each application method.
Please be sure to review each method carefully before making your choice. Due to limited staff resources and the large volume of OPT I-20 requests received by ISS, filing appointments cannot be made with an International Student Advisor if a student has already received an OPT I-20 via email.
