Severe Economic Hardship Authorization Tutorial

Submitting Your Application to USCIS

After reviewing your documents and recommending SEH off-campus work authorization in SEVIS, ISS will provide you a new I-20 with SEH recommendation. You are responsible for mailing your completed SEH application packet to the USCIS service center.

With your I-20 we will also include a complete checklist of the items to include in your application to USCIS.

Important notes:

  • You will need to sign at the bottom of page 1 of the new Form I-20. After signing, make a copy of the I-20. You will keep the original for your records and send the copy with your application to USCIS.
  • Don't forget to include your Social Security Number (if you have one) on question 13.b of the Form I-765.

Thank you for completing the Severe Economic Hardship (SEH) Tutorial!
