Academic Information

Minimum Hours of Credit Required and Maximum Credits Allowed Per Semester

All BECAL-CPK students must enroll for full time study. Undergraduates: 12 U.S. credit hours for most programs. If students would like to take more credit hours, then they will need to pay for any hours above 12 credit hours.

Airport Pick-Up Service

Free pick-up service is provided through the Office of International Education for when you arrive to Wichita (ICT). Students should ask for this service at least two weeks, prior to their arrival date. More information will be emailed to you. However, for departure at the end of the semester, all students must find their own transportation to the airport at their own expense.

Mandatory Health Insurance Covered Under BECAL Scholarship

Students will automatically be charged for health insurance by Wichita State University.

Fall Semester

Students should complete the online application once admitted to WSU through MyWSU account online. If students are coming for fall semester only, then they will still need to complete the academic year housing application. The WSU International Education Office will provide a list of those students to the Housing Office so that they can cancel the second semester (spring). Apply online with MyWSU I.D.

Move-in Dates & Dining Hall Dates of Operation

Fall Semester: BECAL-CPK students may be required to arrive prior to the official move-in date for housing in order to attend the mandatory orientation. Given this, they will need to plan for a few extra days for housing fees and should contact the WSU Housing Office for specific costs. Please see the housing contract for the official move-in date and check the pre-departure information for the arrival date for BECAL-CPK students. Dining services will be closed down during Fall Break in October and over Thanksgiving Break in November.

Move-out Dates & Recommended Dates of Departure Fall and Spring Semester: Generally, students will be required to move out of the residence halls by the Friday after final exams. We would recommend booking your flight for that Friday.
