Enrolling for Spring 2022
IMPORTANT: Return often for updates
Last updated: January 3, 2022
All F-1 students have a SEVIS hold on their account. Before you can enroll for the Spring 2022 term, you will need to complete online SEVIS check-in to clear your SEVIS hold. The Spring 2022 check-in will be available beginning Monday, October 18. Check-ins received before 8 a.m. will be cleared the same business day. Check-ins received after 8 a.m. will be cleared the next business day.
F-1 international students must follow traditional distance learning regulations for the Spring 2022 term onward. This is a change from Spring 2020, Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Fall 2021 terms when the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) issued special COVID-19 provisions temporarily suspending the normal rule.
Immigration regulations state that only one distance education course of up to three credit hours may count towards a student’s minimum full-time enrollment requirement each semester. Hours beyond the minimum enrollment requirement can be in any learning format. Please note that the definition of a distance learning course is one that does not require any physical class meetings or other in-person interaction throughout the semester; at WSU this would be any course with an online (IIS or IIE) instructional method. Hybrid courses have an in-person component so they do not count as distance learning.
If you have any questions about enrollment requirements and the Spring 2022 term, please email iss@wichita.edu or call/visit during walk-in advising hours, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
