The following prerequisites must be met in order to enroll in upper-division courses
in the W. Frank Barton School of Business:
- Declared major in the W. Frank Barton School of Business
- 2.0 GPA
NOTE:
- (L) - For purposes of this transfer guide, "Lab" in the course name or "(L)" after the
course name indicates that the WSU equivalent course carries the "laboratory" (LAB)
attribute.
General Education Program at WSU
Effective Fall 2024, WSU will follow the KBOR system-wide General Education (GE) program
framework which is comprised of 34-35 credit hours organized in six discipline-based
"buckets" and an institutionally designed bucket. A student who satisfies all seven
buckets will complete the GE program.
The 34-35 credit hours are divided as follows:
English Discipline Area – Bucket 1:
Two courses. See specific requirements below. zZzGarret will sendZzZ.
Communications Discipline Area – Bucket 2:
One listed course.
Mathematics & Statistics Discipline Area – Bucket 3:
One listed course.
Natural & Physical Science Discipline Area – Bucket 4:
Four to Five hours and must include a lab. Choose one of the listed courses.
Social & Behavioral Sciences Discipline Area – Bucket 5:
Six hours from at least two subject areas listed.
Arts & Humanities Discipline Area – Bucket 6:
Six hours from at least two subject areas listed.
Institutionally Designated Area – Bucket 7:
Students must complete six credit hours of additional general education courses in
Bucket 7. These credit hours will include three credit hours of First-Year Seminar
and three credit hours of general education of the student's choice from the approved
list of Bucket 4-7 general education courses.
Those students who have earned an Associate Degree or 30 credit hours prior to high
school graduation and before starting classes at WSU as a degree-bound student, may
be exempt from taking a First-Year Seminar course.
