Unsure about your plans for the fall? No matter where you’re at in the college search
process, the Office of Admissions is here to help!
This step-by-step guide lays a path to becoming a member of the newest freshmen class
at Wichita State University:
1. Apply!
If you haven’t completed your application for admission, that will be your first step! There is a $40 application fee. The application fee may be waived for eligible students.
2. Send Your Transcript(s)
Be sure and send us your final official high school transcript and transcripts for any college course work you have completed. Electronic transcripts can be sent to admissions@wichita.edu.
3. Set Up Your myWSU Account
Now, it’s time to set up your myWSU account! This portal is where you will go to access your student email, financial aid, housing information, and more. After you are admitted you will receive a myWSU ID.
4. Manage Your Password
Keep your password handy because you’ll need it later. You will then go to mywsu.wichita.edu and click “Manage your password” followed by “Forgot/Setup Password”. If you have any trouble, contact the WSU Help Desk at 316-978-4357 or helpdesk@wichita.edu.
5. Check Your Student Email
Once you have logged in, be sure and check your Student Email. This can be found by clicking the “Stu Email” icon in upper right-hand corner. Important information is sent here, so we suggest checking this multiple times throughout the week. If you're having trouble, OneStop has this handy email guide.
6. Fill Out a Housing Form
Have you checked in with Housing? If you’re planning to live on campus, be sure you’re taking the right steps. Housing and Residence Life has all the info you need! If you have questions, you can email housing.wsu@wichita.edu.
7. Sign Up for Orientation
If you’ve made it this far, you’re so close! Now you need to register for an orientation date that works with your schedule. Orientation sign-up opens in March and programs take place during the summer.
8. Complete the Enrollment Process
Right after you register for orientation it’s time to fill out the enrollment questionnaire. This will ask you important questions that will be sent to your First-Year Advisor who will then build your schedule and enroll you for classes. Make sure you're checking your student email often once you have submitted your questionnaire!
If you are an incoming transfer or adult student, you will need to reach out to your academic college advising office directly to set up an appointment and get registered for courses.
9. Get Your Schedule
You did it! Be sure and continue to check your email for information on how to accept your fall semester schedule.
You're A Bonafide Shocker!
And … You’re done! Fall classes start in August and we can’t wait to see you on campus!
