Who needs good news for college-bound students to start off the new year? We are thrilled to announce Wichita State University has adjusted the deadline for freshmen merit scholarship consideration to Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023 for high school seniors.
For students who haven’t yet applied, dedicating just 10-15 minutes to complete our admission application and paying the application fee means they’ll be automatically considered for Wichita State’s largest comprehensive scholarship program. Take a peek at our chart to see what scholarships you'd qualify for based on your ACT/SAT scores and GPA. If you qualify, our Financial Aid team will soon have an official award letter on its way to you! No strings attached and it gives you plenty of time to decide by May 1, 2023 – the national college decision day – whether or not wearing black and yellow is destined to be part of your college future.
While our university has seen recent extraordinary growth – including the two largest freshmen classes in the university’s 127-year history occurring in the last two years alone – we’re excited to give even more students the opportunity to join Shocker Nation and give them a start with a four-year scholarship offer. Our niche is helping students pursue their academic goals and chase their professional dreams through applied learning experiences. Last year Shockers had more than 8,000 internships and on-campus positions with 600 employers, earning $28.5 million in wages. If you’ve held off on applying for college because you’re not sure if you want to start your career first, we can help you do both by assisting with college funding along the way through the combined power of scholarships and paid applied learning.
We’ve included the scholarship grid above that applies to Kansas residents and the thousands of students from eight surrounding states who benefit from heavily discounted tuition rates. Trust me! Spending 15 minutes to complete the application could deliver you as much as a $16,000 scholarship. For the full scholarship amounts and details – including out-of-state scholarships for students who can’t tap tuition discounts – visit our scholarship site.
That’s the news you need to start your new year!
