WICHITA, Kan. – The first members of the 2018-2019 selected teams were chosen by the coaching staff. Eight ladies and nine men were pre-selected and placed directly on the selected team for 2018-2019.

Seven men are returning from last year’s team.

The returning men who received direct placement are:

  • Joe Grondin – junior – San Pedro, Calif.
  • Briley Haugh – sophomore – Faribault, Minn.
  • Enzo Hernandez – senior – Manila, Philippines
  • Jerod Hromek – junior – Towanda, Kan.
  • Jacob Kersten – junior – Clarkston, Mich.
  • Wesley Low – senior – Palmdale, Calif.
  • Cortez Schenck – sophomore – Phoenix, Ariz.

The two new players added to the selected team are:

  • Kaan Kurt – North Brunswick High School – Leland, N.C.
  • Nick Sommer – Hononegah Community High School – Roscoe, Ill.

Three ladies who were part of the dominate Lady Shockers last season are back for another season.

The three returning team members who have been selected are:

  • Sierra Kanemoto – senior – Dayton, Ohio
  • Kayla Ovesny – senior – Norman, Okla.
  • Kaitlyn Rudy – junior – Buffalo Grove, Ill.

The Lady Shocks are adding a group of five new players to this year’s 2018-2019 team. Those ladies are:

  • Angelica Anthony – Randolph High School – San Antonio, Texas
  • Addie Herzberg – Wichita High School East – Wichita, Kan.
  • Madison Janack – Carolina Forest High School – Myrtle Beach, S.C.
  • Sarah Klassen – Eden High School – St. Catharines, Ontario
  • Olivia Komorowski – Oshkosh North High School – Oshkosh, Wisc.

Additional men and women may be added to the selected team upon completion of the tryout process in September. In addition to the selected team, all of the 2018-2019 developmental team members for the Shockers will be selected after the annual three week tryout period, scheduled for late August through early September 2018.
